97-32 - Location, Height and Width of Marquees and Marquee Signs LAST AMENDED 6/6/2024 For the purposes of this Chapter, #marquees# shall be permitted only above the primary entrance to one of the following #uses# fronting upon 125th Street or Fifth Avenue: From Use Group III Museums From Use Group VIII Art, music, dancing or theatrical studios Theaters #Marquees# shall project over the sidewalk no more than 15 feet from the #lot line# and shall be no nearer to the curb than two feet. (a) Height of #marquees# The minimum height of a #marquee# or a #marquee sign# shall be three feet; the maximum height for such structure and #sign# shall be five feet. No part of a #marquee# or a #marquee sign# shall be located at a height higher than three feet below any floor containing a #residential use#. (b) Width of #marquees# The width of a #marquee# or a #marquee sign# shall be no greater than 50 percent of the width of the #building# frontage to which it is attached or 40 feet, whichever is less.
