131-49 - Authorization for Exterior Ramps

The City Planning Commission may authorize modifications of the #street wall# location provisions of this Chapter to allow exterior ramps for access from the public
sidewalk to the lowest #story# above the #flood-resistant construction elevation#, as defined in Section 64-11 (Definitions), provided the Commission finds that the design
of such ramps:

(a)    maximizes visibility of interior ground floor space within the #building# from the public sidewalk;

(b)    incorporates amenities such as seating and planting as the Commission may find appropriate; and

(c)    relates harmoniously with the design and materials of the adjacent #building# and the surrounding streetscape.

The Commission may prescribe appropriate conditions and safeguards to minimize adverse effects on the character of the surrounding area.
